Downvoted threads should climb up the main page in the same way upvoted ones do.

For one, i believe that having a "bad" opinion that everyone disagrees with should be similarly acknowledged as the "right" opinion. Let people see that "bad" opinion and let them decide if they also consider it as one. Ability to sort threads by the amount of comments would also work. Make it easier for us to see what threads are filled with people who engage in a discussion. Even if that discussion boils down to two people calling each other names, it's still an interaction between people and that's never a bad thing.

Or how about remove this wanna-be reddit system and bring back old forum-type system where people actually have to contribute somehting to the thread to bring it to the front page via bumping. And actual discussion points would have more responses/discussions resulting in them being at the top. Whereas stupid "fearmongering" circlejerk posts would die out.

Votes aren't generally used to express agreement, they're used to express whether a post is quality or not.

Threads with unpopular opinions frequently get upvotes if they're good quality posts with evidence or analysis.

Just sort by recent and it becomes like a real forum.
