Filter Help & Support from Red Tracker? That's the plan!

ModWuks·9/6/2017, 9:43:52 PM·19 votes·5,039 views

Heaven knows Red Tracker has been difficult to navigate at times due to a flooding of Help & Support posts that generally don't relate to your daily League of Legends interests. Here's a quick one-off post that really doesn't need much context:

Beginning now (like rn), Red Tracker won't be applied to the greater majority of Help & Support posts. Just thought you'd like to know. Feedback welcome, as always.

I will miss you on the red tracker, Broporo and Porocles [zombie-nunu-tears]

(But also thank you for making this change)

Possible to have an option to unfilter them?

Sometimes I like going through H&S threads and learning a few things here and there to help others.

need the same for player behavior and it will be perfect :p

One thing I've noticed as side effect of this, is normally all the threads in the first page of the red tracker will show the red response as well as the full thing they're replying to for context, while with the red filter it only shows what they're replying to if the red post would have been on the original first page of the red tracker.

It's still strictly an improvement over the unfiltered version of course (as if they're off the first page I'd have to go into the thread regardless), but if the magic that filters them could make what they're replying to also show up when they're repopulating the list with non-H&S red posts that'd be grand.

(Also, is the magic constantly being tweaked for performance reasons or something? It seems like the magic filtering post is remade basically every other day, with associated unfiltered time.)

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I've been begging for this for over a year. I REALLY appreciate the hard work that the Help and Supports bro and broette's do but I REEAAALLY appreciate their hard work not making the Red Tracker useless for everyone else.

I wish we had the ability to set keybinding sets to certain champions or builds its hard to change your key bindings to make the play better when you're trying to focus on the game I just find myself finding a universal set that I always use. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I only noticed now, thanks for this change!

It would be optimal if in future there was a way to manually set which sections to include and which to exclude (sometimes there are lots of Bug reports about skins that don't really interest me, it would be nice to be able to filter those away too, if needed)

Thanks again! :D

You've made red tracker useful again. Wooh!

Is this supposed to happen with the mobile site as well? That would be sweet, because I visit this mostly from my phone. I hadn't realized until a few days ago that this helpful feature existed!

I'd like to report a bug with the filter. Recently whenever the filter is active, the dev tracker turns a hideous color that makes reading it an eyesore. I'd be nice if you could fix it so the color doesn't change.

patmax1711/10/2017, 7:39:57 PM1 votes

Is the filter a bit bugged? Whe I open red tracker it sometimes doesn't filter away the H&S posts, unless i click "show more" a few times. Does it trigger only if there are a minimum number of H&S posts in the tracker?

It happens to me mostly on mobile (i'm from a PC now and it's not happening, can't remember if I had this problem only from mobile)

Raxistaicho11/17/2017, 3:31:49 PM1 votes

Is it possible to also filter out behavior posts?

Tahngarthor11/17/2017, 5:56:30 PM1 votes

Maybe you should add a seperate Support Tracker- That way people looking for help can quickly see if a well known issue is being discussed etc.

Mysticman899/9/2017, 12:36:34 AM1 votes

Oh good, that'll make my daily peruse somewhat more streamlined.

That also explains the effect I've been noticing when I open the red tracker currently. It loads up all the red posts (including H&S ones), so for half a second I can see some topics (that are H&S ones), and then the list updates and only shows me the rest. Wasn't sure quite what was going on before I saw this... (which incidentally, I only saw because porocles posted here).

This appears to have stopped being a thing today.

DeathBurst9/19/2017, 8:39:24 AM1 votes

So, this filter is great, thanks a lot for putting it in place.

But...

If I have a spare hour to kill and for once I want to see the posts from Help & Support, is there a way to temporarily remove the filter on my side?

(I don't want to sound whiny, if there is no way to do that, well, no problem, the filter is still very useful, and most of the time I just want to keep up with the news and I don't have a spare hour to kill. I'm asking just in case ;) )

EDIT: Btw, gj adding the notification at the top of the Tracker, that's how I finally end up on this 12-day-old post just today.
