Urgot changes

Urgot Hey guys, I know you have probably heard everything under the sun about Urgot, but I think making him better is simple: Increase his q's scaling, change his w's scaling from ap to mana, reduce his aa range a little, and buff his base stats to that of a fighter. Nice, easy, and no rework needed. He is not that bad (in fact, against physical damage tops, I love a blue build on him: item 3158 item 3042 item 3025 item 3110 item 3508 item 3026, it is so very strong.)

I like everything you said up until the reduced AA range. He already has one of the lowest AA ranges in the game (for ranged champion that is). I think it would be safe to leave that alone.

I think the damage and scaling on the Q needs to be changed so it isn't worthless late game. I like the W mana scaling. His E very good as is. His ultimate could use a full rework, but there lies a conflict between his overall theme and what his ultimate can do.

Anyway, I'm glad to see more people discussing Urgot. He needs some love!

Hey man I'm just gonna quickly drop my thoughts here.

First of all Im a huge urgot fan, and I would play him more if I didnt get raged at for it.

Urgot's idea is very tricky to balance though. The original idea is that urgot crushes the early game but falls off late, kinda like the marksman version of renekton or lee sin. Contrary to those two however, his gameplay does not offer very much "counterplay."

Not to say I agree with the state he's in now, and I kinda like the idea you have going, and I also love that build, but buffing him is a pretty scary prospect if you are trying to keep that same power curve.

For a second lets go look at release urgot, if you landed your E at level 2 or 3, you could very easily proceed to just kill the enemy adc and their was nothing they could do about it. With that said, in his current state you cant do very much damage ever really.

Now this may be dumb, and call me out if it is, but I think the best way to improve urgot's kit is to buff his base damages a bit so he can be that early game bully, but make his Q act more like xeraths ult, so if your cursor was within a certain distance of where who you landed the E on it would show a circle of where it would land, and then it could be dodged but also provide the urgot player with an advantage if they could land the E.

Anyways I like the build you provided, and if you ever run him top lane try this one out and let me know what you think item 3071 item 3047 item 3143 item 3102 item 3508 item 3043

The thing about Urgot is that he is not a basic attack adc. As it stands now, he is a bruiser above all. He deals his damage via his abilities. He has to interrupt his basic attacks just to cast his abilities, he doesn't have anything that buffs said basic attacks, and therefore, he, like Jayce, can never out damage other ad carries at full build. He doesn't have any movement abilities, meaning he can't keep himself out of harms way, and therefore is forced to build some amount of defense. Basically, everything that has happened to the game in terms of the changes brought on by the new champions (and the reworked ones) has moved the game away from Urgot's style of play. Either they completely rework him and scrap everything he has, or keep his current build and bring him from an adc to a fighter (bruiser).

is there any possible way to rework him and make him alot less ugly?

If you want to start with some more 'minimalistic' changes without a big redesign, one thing I see if he gets off his E then the skill is taken out of the skill-shot of Q (homing missile basically).

In my opinion, this is a lame combo. While the player is sort of 'rewarded' for getting up a follow-up shot, what if they were going to get off that shot anyway? What if they have the skill in skill-shots, you know?

I like the idea of his E being changed to a type of debuff that causes follow-up Q's to hit harder but they remain skill shots, so the player is rewarded (more) for doing well. There is a certain excitement in pulling off combo-shots, especially when they are both skill shots, and seeing stuff go boom. I think most people in League-Land like the idea of rewarding skill and adding challenge factor and complexity. I think this would be a step towards those. Its counterable because you still have things like Sivir's spell shield, banshee's, and of course good old fashioned "L2Dodge."

See how it goes, and then implement another round if needed, but incrementally it might be a safe start.

I agree with everything except maybe the aa range reduction. Reduce it anymore and he'll be a melee champion. Urgot has great potential, by applying all of your suggestions as well as a slight(and I mean SLIGHT) buff to his W's shield, perhaps a SLIGHT aa range increase, and now on to his ult...

I only play urgot bot adc, he only underperforms if I do, or if the enemy support engages hard before i get a chance to hit lvl 2-3 and poke down the adc with E, and 2 or 3 Q's. His ult does not help this play style what-so-ever. I only use his ult to catch fleeing enemies during a gank or team fight, or to stall an enemy from attacking to save my life or the live of an ally in a small skirmish(2v2, 2v1, etc.) other than that all it is not very extraordinary. (although i do love to E, ignite, then ult to let the DoT finish them off in a close fight{also prevents them from igniting :P}) I personally would suggest his ultimate allow him to auto attack WHILE he is channeling his ult, and possibly deal bonus damage to the target being ulted! :D

but thats just my two cents on how to fix my 2nd favorite Urgot marksman in the game. (NOT best favorite)(...and yes he is a marksman... at heartitem 3110 ) #fixthecrab!

I do like the idea of changing his role to fit his ult, but if he is going to stay a marksman i think i have an idea that might help.

I feel like his main problem is he that being a ad caster limits him because of his lack of ability to lifesteal and crit when he get zoned out of aa range. What i'm thinking is that if his q acted more like a skillshot aa it would make a lot more useful late game in terms of damage throw crits and staying alive without going in to close and getting destroyed. If it makes him to strong then make his q do only 80% of the crit damage or something like that.

just an idea
