I think plenty of people would get it, that line is fairly iconic. And I think even for those that don't, they wouldn't see it as coming totally out of the blue - they would just assume it was because they are based on similar animals (fox/wolf.)

It would certainly make more sense to those not in the know than say, the Zilean/Volibear interactions already in the game.

Can you do something special with Warwick's audio? Can you have his VO's differ based off how many stacks of his passive he's got up? So make his voice sound more humanoid and calmer with 0 stacks. And when he's maxed on stacks, maybe not have him speak, just have him bark or growl? I feel that'd really drive home the effect of him losing his humanity and sanity as you build up stacks.

That's a really cool idea! We were thinking slowly morph his model to look more beast-like as well. This is all a question of scope: how much time / how many resources will we have? Since I don't know the answer yet I can't guarantee any of these things will happen.

Could it be the difference of him running on two legs (his base skin's run animation) versus him running on all fours (his hyena skin's run animation)? Or were you meaning more along the lines of he grows more hunched over, longer claws, a more pronounced muzzle, and etc? Cause that is sounding very Epic skin, versus something that could be built into his base model. Then again, I think with the technology you guys are adding for VO's, we'll all be surprised and happy by his sound effects.

Seriously, though, it's an iconic videogame for an older but massively widespread and successful video game console. Everyone in video game development and their mothers have no qualms about sneaking "Do a barrel roll" into their games, which is from the very same Star Fox 64. In fact, your company has ALREADY DONE SO with Corki and Gragas! People get that reference. They'll get "Can't let you do that, fox" if you put it into your game, too. I am all for adding this line. It's a less common but more fresh poke at the same game that's always been memorable for its dialogue.

I think it works better with Soraka. WW has no connection so far with Ahri, but with Soraka it seems to work out: "I can't let you do that Star Child"

Well, there is an H-doujin by Kimmundo that connects the two, but I'm obviously not going to link it (it's porn).

Besides, with Ahri, the reference makes more sense to those who get it. And I'm sure Riot's got other plans on interactions with Soraka.

I've played Starfox: Assault and I kinda understand the whole star wolf vs star fox thing, but there really isn't any lore connection that is canon to sufficiently do this. Just because there is a fan made H-doujin on 2 characters doesn't make the 2 chracters related or connected in anyway because it is not canon. Sad thing is, is that the Starfox franchise is dieing out, I don't think people will understand the reference unless you are a die hard nintendo fan who grew up with starfox and just so happens to play league. Don't get me wrong, it's a good idea; I just don't see it happening.
