You know what would be cool for Morde?

Some Rioter once said Morde was like the creeping death. Slowly catching up to you. That's why he has no CC and so on.
And while the idea does sound cool, Morde is more like the 'Please, don't leave me.'- death. Walking around and hoping anyone is stupid enough to run into him.
So what would be cool as CC-replacement is a punishment function for champions that run away.
What if he had an ability, that marked an enemy. And if that enemy leaves a certain range around Morde, they receive a punishment.
And this punishment can be anything but CC. Maybe damage, maybe a gap closer and so on.

What if instead of putting the range around morde we made it more like a Chomp Chomp chain, where it's anchored in 1 position and the enemy it is casted on is cant leave X range around the anchor. This takes away mordes ability to walk out of range to trigger it himself/flash out as an execute. It would also allow morde to use it as a defensive tool in order to leave a duel and not die at very low health.

I think this is an interesting mechanic. The Morde player could choose between walking away himself and sacrifice damage or stay within the range and deal damage at the risk of not applying the cc. Maybe with enough cdr you could apply a mark to multiple people before the duration expires if morde is left unchecked. However, you would have to give it a 'cannot affect the same target for x amount of time' treatment, so lanig doesn't involve morde's perma locking a target.

You can not punish players for disengaging from fights. That defeats the whole point of choices. With this idea you are saying we traded and u lost the trade. Now you fight and die or i chase you and you still die.

There is no counter play here. IT is just die. We always are allowed to fall back and lick our wounds. The cost is CS and exp though.
