Can someone explain league hitboxes to me?

Something doesn't seem to add up with this one. I mean it gives off all the IMPRESSIONS that you can dodge it. Maybe riot just wants hitboxes to be one of those mysteries of life. lol

So there are a few things at work here.

  • Fizz's ult grows in hitbox size as it travels. As you can see, it gets larger right before it hits the Anivia.
  • Abilities are close to the size of the hitbox, but not exact. In this case, the hitbox is a bit bigger than the fish.
  • Abilities and champions are three dimensional, but League's location and skillshots are, to my knowledge, two dimensional. That means that the area a character is may not be quite where they appear to be. This is especially true in cases where a champion floats above the ground, and Anivia is one of the champions with the highest float height.

Fizz's ult (in flight) is a single projectile that is, to my knowledge, pretty small, but when it stops the hitbox grows in size. Anivia is also floating above the ground a little bit so it gives the impression that it wont look like it'll hit. Fizz's ult has some real wonky hitboxes, no doubt.
