Client crashes during champ select, returned to it but cant pick due to Loading screen

What fun, I got a bugsplat crash during champ select. When the client reloads, I hear the music, the sounds of the timer counting down, etc, but it shows a big LOADING screen all over everything and it doesn't go away until I'm booted for not picking, which I couldn't do because of the "LOADING" screen.

What the hell use is returning me to ch amp select if you're not going to let me pick and then give me a queue dodge penalty for something that wasn't my fault?

The Game consistently crashes in select for me. Ever since season 6, when they rolled out the new map and started adding all these unnecessary fucking particle effects and shit. Riot doesn't care though, they won't fix their client so we just have to deal with it I guess. It only happens for me every few games so it's not too bad, if I'm last pick I can usually get into the game in time to pick without "dodging" but if I'm first pick it's a guaranteed LP loss.

yeah i love taking hits to my LP when i had no intention of dodging but riot's client wouldn't let me pick. And support flat out says they will never adjust LP, even if it was caused by their software malfunctioning. Fun.

I mean whats the point in reconnecting me to champ select when there's no way I'll be able to pick?
