@Riot, why is it that I have WORSE ping now that you moved the NA Server?

I'm East coast and yet my ping has been worse since Riot moved the server. I was just in a game where I couldn't do anything because of the lag. But the games prior I was fine (except for sometimes my ping would shoot up) but other than that I was okay. It pisses me off that now I go into a game and don't know whether I'm going to be fine or not and I can't fix it since it's not a problem on my side.
