Muting a player should last until after the game is over.

You should also be able to mute players prior to the game starting in the champion select screen.

It might also be helpful to reduce toxicity if there to be a message in chat that lets them know they have been muted, so they don't keep going on for the rest of your team to hear their negativity.

Players are not muted at the end of game score screen. I muted them for a reason in game. I dont need to see thier toxicity after the game either.

Players may be more likely to modify thier behavior for the better if they can see they have been muted. At the very least they will stop wasting time railing against the player that muted them and create a more toxic environment for the other players who can still read them.
