while running 45% crit damage runes the tooltip still stated 50% at the start of the game
might wanna check this for all other moves that scale with crit damage like Alpha strike and Ashe frost shot

50% + (critical chance x (1 + 0.5 x bonus critical damage))%
With this formula, if your critical chance is 0%, then your bonus critical damage won't add any extra damage, because anything multiplied by 0 will be 0. So you need some critical chance before your bonus critical damage will add any extra damage to Caitlyn's passive.

well I had 100% crit chance + 95% crit damage and it only calculated up to 197% damage from a headshot
is that supposed to be the calculation also?
