Umm, Baron Nashor, aren't your attacks supposed to break spell shields?

I just lost a Baron buff to an enemy team with 2 Banshee's Veils, and though Baron was attacking them, those spell shields weren't popping.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Baron's attacks are supposed to break spell shields. Am I wrong, or is he bugged right now?
