Sivir's spell shield bug

Today playing as Sivir, I had encounter a bug in her spell shield. Everytime an oppenent used an ability on me, I immediately use her spell shield to block and gain back mana. Problem is that the spell shield activated but no mana return back after successfully blocking an ability. Is it just me or just some random glitch of the game?
