Free series win not given

Hey so I was bronze 2 and got in a series but lost then was promised a free win in my next one... So I got back in a series and sure enough it said I had a free win.. But then the next match I immediately played I won.. but I didn't promote. Instead I was still stuck on one win in the series. Thanks in advance!
