Black champion select screen/Client closing during chmp selct

Im sure some if not a few of us have had this already. Its really frustrating when you go into champ select and you cant pick or get kicked out from the servers.

Then you lose lp, probably might have to log back in and then find you have a nice 3 min to 30 min wait. This isn't even happening to me much, my cousin is the one thats been having it lately since yesterday and i have to sit with him and watch as he either cant select champ to waiting with the timer.

This has happend at least 5 times since yesterday and today recently. Are there any fixes to this and does riot even know about this? Getting real tired.
