[Matchmaking Issue] Queueing for highly needed roles creates massive MMR disparity
Hey there. I'd like to lay down all the evidence before being judge so hear me out.
I've played jungle this season for the most part, climbed my way to Plat. After doing so I switched back to my beloved Support role. Instant Queues! Hurray. I proceeded to lose pretty much every singe game. However, the games I noticed were entirely one sided. Kill differences were at least 15 every game. Swap back to Jungle/Top roles, games were fine, balanced, very close games. Switch back to support, clownfiesta.
I had dropped to 0LP within a couple matches; However I stayed at 0LP for 6 matches in a row. This is what tipped me off. If I wasn't being demoted, it's because my MMR wasn't being affected much.
So I pop open OP.GG (I know, it's not the most reliable, but it's the only thing we as players have) to check my MMR and the MMR of my opponents. My MMR was displaying as "High for your League", all my teammates were "Low for your League". The opponents were regularly "High for your League", and rarely if not ever "Low".
So I averaged the games out based on the MMR of the teammates, and the games were regularly 100-250 MMR difference between the teams. That's insane! Literally insane.
Play a game of Top/Jungle to check, MMR is averaged to be around 20 difference between the teams.
Something is going on with the matchmaking. I don't want to have instant queues if it means I'm going to lose. I want to sit in Queue for at least 2 minutes like everyone else to get a nice balanced game.
