The wierdest client bug I have seen

So by accident I dodged a ranked game, (Forgot to choose champion) and so right after I went to Q up again, and it said like "LOL Spammer has recently abandoned a game please wait 5:00 minutes" or something like that. So I decided not to play after that cuz I didn't feel like waiting 5 minutes, but then later in the day I went to go get rid of the time (Not really intending to play just to run down the wait time) and the wait was gone. Like I Q'd up and got into the game right away.

Now this bug has no effect on the game at all, in fact it might even be a slight break for some people, but it is very odd and I don't know why it happened. So I was just wondering what happened and why.
