Getting punished because client crashed????

Would there be anyway to implement some sort of system where if you're in champ select and your League Client crashes (happens stupidly often), it would identify you didn't dodge but rather you were forced to leave by the same game that's now punishing you for it?

For one, that's not necessarily Riot's fault. Just because a program crashes does not mean it's a programming issue. There are plenty of reasons that are more in the gamer's court especially if it is happening 'stupidly often'.

  1. Bad sectors of storage (hard drive, or RAM)
  2. Bad drivers
  3. Corrupted files (sort of covered in 1, but still other possibilities for why this might be) etc

So why does any of that matter? Well, it's not Riot's fault, and adding in a way to get around punishments would just lead to abuse cases. It wouldn't be too had to write something up that could cause another program to crash. That is why it is unfortunate, but the side effects of adding in a bypass would cause more issues than it would solve.

And with all that said, it actually could be their fault. Not that blaming anyone matters, my point mostly is that when someone dodges due to circumstances beyond their control, whether it be their or Riots fault, having some forgiveness would be appreciated.

My point is that knowing someone who had a situation that was legit out of their control vs someone faking one just because they wanted to dodge abusing the 'forgiveness' is near impossible. Then, it would mean that more dodges and afk's happen so people can avoid situations which will lead to an overall downgrade in experience in LoL
