Ashe and the crit number in game

I was just practicing with Ashe, trying to get back into the swing of things, and I noticed that when AAing, the special damage text to denote a crit hit pops up only some of the time. It was hard to tell, but the damage looked the same, I just wasn't seeing the correct text.
