Kassadin Nether Blade and Turrets

Kassadin's Nether Blade passively deals damage to structures. However, the active does not. Furthermore, activating the ability causes the passive to deactivate so Kassadin actually deals less damage to structures if he activates his W than if he does not. Clearly, something needs to change here. Not sure which direction, but the way it is is not really okay.
