Black screen in Champion Select

I was in a Normal game lobby with a friend, he was the leader, and upon accepting a game, the noise to select a champion chimed but the screen immediately went black for both of us. Afterwards we both got banned from starting a game for 5 minutes because the lobby got disbanded due to neither of us being able to select a champion.
