Item Incorrect Information - Relic Shield

Not a bug but didn't see anywhere else to put this Relic Shield is somewhat misleading in making it look like it only works for melee. However ranged champions can get the effect by last hitting a minion. This should either be removed, or added in the tooltip.

The way the 'Melee execution' and 'killing a minion' effect are jumbled together as if they are 1 effect, when they are actually 2 separate effects is mainly where the confusion comes from.

It states in the tooltip that killing a minion in general grants killing gold blah blah blah AND says the MELEE auto attacks will execute minions under X health. Nothing wrong with the tooltip or anything, just very poor wording.

Yes, but this implies that the effect only works for melee, it's a little more than poor wording.

It implies that only melee champions can EXECUTE minions, nothing about the effect is mentioned anywhere besides "killing a unit (in general) grants you and nearby ally killing gold blah blah blah.

It would be okay except the killing a minion effect is written directly after the melee part, with no separation. It's bad enough that I've been flamed several times for getting relic shield on ranged because they thought it didn't work.

Then they could switch the two sentences around. OOOOH. The wording, albeit horrible, is still correct though.

I don't agree that the wording is 'correct' if so many people would think it only works for melee.

And yes actually, simply rearranging the sentences would mostly solve the confusion. When they are jumbled together it appears as if the 'killing a minion' 2nd part is a continuation of 'melee executing a minion'. But if the melee part was mentioned last, it would be obvious that the Healing effect could apply for any last hit not just melee.

Nope wording is 100% correct. Two separate sentences, one states melee attacks execute minions, the other states that killing a minion shares the gold and gives the healing.

Executing a minion and killing them are two separate things.

Melee basic attacks execute minions below 200 Health

Killing a minion heals the owner and the nearest allied champion for 40 Health and grants them kill gold.

The tool-tip clearly states exactly how the item functions. The two aspects of the item (execution and gold-sharing/healing) are clearly separated.

There is no issue with the tool-tip wording; there is apparently an issue with some player's reading comprehension skills.

Look at the picture in OP because that's how it's represented in the game. Yes they are a separate sentence, but within the same section. Which is why so many people think it only works for melee.

I quoted the text from the game.

It function is perfectly clear.

Some people just can't be bothered to actually read the tool-tip properly.

Yes but you're ignoring how it is represented in the picture, which is in large the source of peoples' confusion. The melee execution and killing are jumbled together as if they are one effect, when they are actually 2 effects. On first glance, most people I've known thought it meant melee only for the entire effect.

To people who are actually analyzing what it says, yes it's clear, but the average person just looking it over once will think it only works for melee. I've been flamed at least 50 times for getting relic shield on ranged because they thought it didn't work so this isn't just about my opinions. This is after having so many games of people misinformed about it and I can see why.

I would also say that people on the forums are (probably) more informed than the average LoL player, and so they actually look up and analyze things like this, whereas someone who is just playing casually and never looks up stuff online would just read it once quick and think it only works for melee.
