[Client] game won't load in

I went into lobby, banned, picked, game went to load. client minimized like usual but the actual game never opened up. I closed my client and task managered league shut. relogged. same thing. about 8x. i finally made it to the load screen, it got to 4% but by then the team had remade, i get an alert "this game is no longer active. feel free to play another game". I can see it it my tabs, but I can't alt tab out. I had to make another desktop and force close the league game. =/ RIP my LP. This happened about 6 months ago, but nothing came from it. I feel like this is a somewhat recurring problem and I can't be the only one that's had this happen. What do?
