Replays Unstable 9.10

SirPurrr·5/14/2019, 12:45:37 PM·31 votes·5,644 views

Getting random client crashes on Windows 10. I can't finish a replay without a crash so far.

While I've had this error on other patches, it was very rare. Now, I can't get through a replay without it happening multiple times. It's unwatchable. Every 5 minutes or so "A critical error has occurred and the process must be terminated..." It feels like it happens more when I click on the timeline to go to disconnected segments.

I let it generate a memory dump file but it's an enormous 1.7 GB.

BTW: Summoner Spells are frequently displayed incorrectly for many patches now.

Yes this is really frustrating because I watch all the replays after the match is over to learn and sharpen my matchups and what I could have done better. Now that I cant study them anymore I am kinda at a loss. I hope Riot works on it soon.

-Attempted force patch reload. -Attempted multiple replay tests. (always crashes randomly within the 1 - 10 minute mark. -Attempted Riot Repair tools.

I also get crashes at the same point in every replay i try to watch as well. Please Riot help us as I submitted this bug as well. We want to watch our games.

Have a same problems here. I think main reason is Riot replays record system has problems, and .rofl file we download to play replays have problem too.

I did some test and here is result:

  • Crash happen on exactly time and always this time
  • Change client, ex: KR to EUW, don't work, crash still happen.
  • Redownload replay and play again, crash still happen
  • Change some setting on client, ex: resolution, image quality, windowed mode or full screen... Crash still happen

IF WHAT REPLAYS BY OP.GG OR LEAGUEOFGRAPHS, THIS CRASH DON'T HAPPEN.

I try to play 20 replays and 16 of them crash. omg :(

Added information, on few patch ago, same bugs happen but very rare and only appear at the end of replays, and not have alert crash, just auto close replays when replays play done.

Serious problems watching replays with this recent patch. It hard crashes with a critical error. I've never had such problems watching replays before.

Have also been having this problem. A dump almost seemed to work but I can't get the replay to work for more than a few seconds after clicking on the timeline (or just trying to let it play naturally) and it is hindering my ability to record a bug from my games.

Luckily, it seems to not affect all replays. My last replay worked just fine.

Can't record a fucking game without having it crashes somewhere, had to record like 20 fucking times

I like how there's no response with almost a week's time from anyone on Riot's side.

Either they're clueless and haven't figured it out yet, or they don't care that much yet. Just wait until a streamer complains about it then they might fix it faster.[zombie-brand-facepalm]

Thanks God. I thought it was just me. I am having the same issue for 3 days already, and it’s so frustrating. Riot, please fix this!

SirPurrr5/21/2019, 8:48:07 AM1 votes

Weirdly, it seems to happen a lot more often when there's an Ekko on the team.

Same issue here if I press timeline once f.e. to go to minute 50 it consistently crashes within ~5 seconds. More than annyoing.

Still an issue I cant watch any replay without the game crashing :( Really need someone at riot to fix this problem please! I never once had an issue watching a replay till recently.

Yeah it's kind of ridiculous to have a core feature be nonfunctional and not have it hotfixed. :( 2 weeks of an unusuable replay system is a long time.

Trying to watch my replays to get some highlights done and System Error crashes over and over, please HELP!!

I'm having same damn problem too. It just would't let me watch my replay and it stunned the whole windows 10, can't ALT+Tab, can't Crtrl+F4, can't do anything. I have to restart my computer. Plz fix it before next patch.
