Can't connect to chat system; cannot invite people

I cannot sign into the chat service, and that means I cannot look at my friends list or invite them. Is this a bug or can I just not connect? And yes, I did close the launcher and re-open it.

I cant connect to chat either. I've tried reloading the game four times now.

Agreed. I have same issue. This prevent pregame communication

I couldn't connect to chat or chat pre game about lanes and such so i quit the match up and logged out now cant log on, I'm guess riot wasn't ready to release this patch
