Vladimir's sustain is downright idiotic
At first I thought I believed this game was unbalanced because the champions weren't, then as I grew as a player, I realized that it was just because I was bad. After more time of improving my play, I tried to block out the notion of counters and horribly unbalanced champions, but that isn't possible. Sure some are quite unbalanced, but none seem to be more unbalanced than Vladimir. No, he isn't unbalanced because I can't fight him, he isn't unbalanced because of how much damage he deals; no, he is unbalanced because he is downright unkillable. I don't know what the designer at riot who made Vladimir was thinking.
"Hey, let's make a champion that has scaling lifesteal, no mana and an untargetable form that lasts several seconds while subsequently damaging and slowing enemies that pass through!" Whoever thought this champion was balanced or counterable has no common sense. Example: Say I am playing Zed and I am facing Vlad. After getting him down to less than 100 hp, I decide to ult him so I can ensure his death. I go in, throw a shadow and hit r. I end up missing some of the shurikens, so he still has some hp remaining. "My death mark will finish him off, there is no way it couldn't, he has less than 40 hp." Just as it is about to pop, Vladimir pools away back towards his tier two turret, making it out and recalling. Mind telling me how that is counterable?
If I get any responses I can almost guarantee they will fall along the lines of "Get better at the game" or "Vlad can be countered, stop being such an idiot" and while I am not going to say I am great or even good at this game, I feel like if I were good or great, I still wouldn't see a way to counter him (unless I keep him below level 3 the entire game). Maybe there is a way to counter him; I know if there is, I am clearly not seeing it. If anyone does respond, please could I get some tips on how to. There are many champions I don't know how to fight very well, but this particular one I don't see any way of fighting no matter my strategy.
