After the patch, whenever I and my friend start a chat in the client, it separates the messages i sent from the messages she sent. Before the messages in the chat would appear in the order sent but that's not the case anymore making it annoying to chat since i have to scroll up to see the last message sent by me or by her.

Noticed that its because your computer time is not the same time as your friends messing up the time stamps.

Sink your clock with your friends and the chat will be normal after.
