So just had this happen, I was playing in a ranked game and I would randomly hear Azir say his lines. I think the majority, if not all were when he placed wards. Happened about six times through out the match. From beginning to mid if match.
Now obligatory Azir talks to people but Karthus still can not .
I've been hearing the same thing, and you're right: it's when he places wards. I've heard the same problem with Twitch and Cass in games too.
EDIT: I looked at Sion's VO and realized that it was happening with him too.
I do know there are some champions who you can hear under certain circumstances as part of their interactions. For example, when playing against a Kindred, if you kill the marked jungle camp you should hear Wolf say "That was mine!" You may even hear it if Kindred is on your team, but I haven't tested it myself. I try to always leave jungle marks for Kindred, because I'm nice like that. I am not aware of a specific interaction for Azir involving wards being placed, but it's definitely possible.
Now that I think about it, are there other champions that say things when placing wards? I can't think of any off the top of my head, unless I block them out. Because what Azir says is definitely things about sight and seeing Shurima.
