[CLIENT]/[GAMEPLAY] Tooltips Block Clicks
This may have rarely happened before I got a 4K monitor, but now it's a chronic issue:
The little black tooltip that shows a hint or the text of any given clickable surface sometimes lines up directly under the pointer, so that when I try to click, nothing happens.
Logically, the tooltips should be click-through, but this clearly is not the case.
This happens in the client, for example clicking on a button that has a tooltip, and also during matches.
To duplicate reliably:
- Launch League client, log in.
- Take your pointer up past the [Play] button, and enter it from the top.
- The black tooltip saying "Click to choose the type of game you'd like to play" will pop up, covering part of the button.
- Move the pointer over that text, where it's still also over the button.
- The [Play] button will dim as if the pointer is not hovering over it.
- Sure enough, if you click nothing happens.
This bug occurs for a number of buttons, for example the (!) alert button and ALL buttons on the first screen after login, but not every other button in the client. Actually, right now it looks like it's happening on 100% of the buttons I check, in all screens of the client. I thought the other day there were a few that let me click through them, but now I'm not finding those. This interferes with clicking in item sets, for example. The only exceptions are where the tooltip follows the pointer.
It's even happening if the tooltip for accepting a pickup member gets in the way, in Team Builder.
It occurs frequently now that I have a 4K monitor, even though I've tweaked things so that League is otherwise playable.
I have a similar problem in the game, but it's harder to replicate intentionally:
Sometimes when I attempt to buy something in the shop, an item isn't clickable once I get the cursor over it, and it feels like it's the much more elaborate tooltip interfering, perhaps at its edge, even though the code for the interface clearly is intended to make that impossible, with the tooltip following the pointer instead of being static. It happens mainly when I'm in a huge hurry, and therefore both move the mouse suddenly and erratically, AND am too distracted to notice exactly what the tooltip is doing. But moving the mouse off and back on the item fixes it.
This is all with Windows 10, a 4K monitor, very powerful video card, and Yolomouse to make the mouse visible.
Here, I've added an image showing two** screen shots**, one with the pointer over the tooltip, and one normal.
You can't see the mouse, because screen shots exclude those by default, but you can see that the pointer is causing the tooltip to appear, and that in one case the [Play] button is darker than the other.
