Let 80% Vote Abort During Champ Select

Let a vote of 4/5ths abort a match in champ select.

How many times have you had your League experience ruined by a player in champ select:

  • Seriously announcing that they are, specifically and intentionally, going to troll. Not just an honest mistake like jungling an adc, but they're going "AP tryndamere with all mana runes, ha, eff all y'all!" and they're serious, or
  • Entering chat by pasting a racist or obscene comment dozens of times the moment the team is formed, which indeed foreshadows his behavior for the whole match, or
  • Instalocking a champ that is not their valid position (new champ select, or they are the last to try to call mid), or
  • Demand everyone else comply with their ultra-narrow meta "WTF mid take Ignite you n00b! gg!!!!", or
  • "Top or feed!!!"

I understand that we can't have people just reporting each other willy-nilly for mild nonsense, like the busybody reporting mid for not taking ignite, or the moment someone says something mean. But we need SOME way of nipping an overwhelmingly bad teammate in the bud, other than actually becoming the badguy who is punished for skipping queue to save nine people from 20 wasted minutes with the immediately-toxic player.

For example, let a majority vote on one team dissolve their team. No harm, no foul.

Or if ALL FOUR (or perhaps three) try to report the same player, let it stick. I think 80% of a pickup team reporting someone should at least automatically dissolve the match with no penalty to the voters, and perhaps a log review to see if the reportee should be punished.

And it could have reasonable limitations, like excluding four-man premades, who we all know will side with a toxic pal over his victim.

This not only would save nine people from some of the very WORST league experiences, but also would serve as a deterrent in general, as players who know this is an option would be less likely to act up in the first place, or to stop when warned by their teammates.

The current system gives trolls a feeling of being able to hold the entire team hostage or force a skip, a sense of power that just encourages spoiled children and pathological personalities to abuse that advantage.

ANY means of halting blatant misbehavior in champ select would be better than none.

I agree there should be a vote disband option however it could be abused when someone sees a OP team composition and just does it simply for the fact to get out of playing the match with (X) said team that took a champion players agreed they would lose because of it or likely have an awful game.

**Define Valid position for champion this is where I argue Teemo is really not a top laner in my view but bronze players will disagree, in some cases sure, but not all the time when not going specifically to counter someone., **

How about all the supports who lock a "Invalid support" for your team and do nothing to benefit anyone for example taking karma support when you need something different that is an instant stun, not a time based stun for example

Over-All the biggest issue I am encountering with the new champion selection.

. Junglers who "Grief Lanes" or Intentionally throw off other lanes.

. Players who don't know how to build around their carry based champions so the game is lost.

vote to abort would mean that a team that has an obvious advantage coming out of champion select (picked an OP pick, you have an all ad comp, etc.) no longer has an advantage and you would remove a piece of the game. if you get an obvious troll, just dodge. you lose 3lp instead of 15, and 5mins instead of 20.

The issue with Dynamic Queue is that you are either forced to go with the team comp you see or get a dodge penalty. This is something that trubles me a lot because things like Ashe Jungle and Riven Mid seem to happen a lot nowdays (not mentioning other trollings). Even like that a vote won't save much of it and it might be a tool for premades to exploit other players.

I'd like more a "Free Dodge" system working the same way as ARAM Rerolls, max 2 charges and you need to play games in Dynamic Queue to cumulate them.

all you will accompish is causing people who like to play off-meta to never get in a game and forcing trolls to wait until in game to announce themselves. not really solutions.

I proposed the vote to kick option years ago bud... they aint gonna change, i think they enjoy watching people suffer.. Sona jungle in ranked FTW! then i'm outta promotionals cuz i dodged... thanks RIOT!

Ok, it's frustrating. But it's worth noting that a dodge costs you very little LP which you'll gain back very quickly. It's your MMR that really counts, not LP so for those few games where champ select is just a nightmare, get out and move on. It might be nice for Riot do have a system where things can just disband, but there's already a pretty good way for players to fix it on their own that it's not exactly high priority.

Add in one rule that it has to happen before a champion on the other team locks in and I'm all for it.

I can see this happening; Douche: "Mid or feed" Mid: "But I already-" Douche: "Mid or feed" Mid locks in because pick order Douche: AP Riven with ghost and clarity -----Abort----- Next game; Douche: "Mid or feed"

There is no reason to allow 80% of the team to abandon champ select. You are all a bunch of whiny nerds who are upvoting this thread. You can already get in quadra-ques and penta-ques. There is no way I will stand for a bunch of clowns voting to kick from champ select because they don't like that I went AP Teemo mid. It could be that I have a 75% win rate with him and 6.0 KDA. You never know.

Take advice from Arnold Schwarzeneggar and "STOP WHINING!"

Imo the better method here would be to allow queue dodging with no lp or time penalty. After the first 2 or 3 dodges THEN you start getting the time and lp penalties.

Encountered my first match where everyone started just banning everyone's champions, and I had to use the first dodge of the day dogging because toxicity started in champion select.

Also the "Griefing Jungler" Trend is happening a lot right now, I just had a "Kindred" screw up hard getting me killed and the enemy ahead because they called invade no one else followed, then later they come into my game at level 5 and start taking a bunch of farm setting me behind a lot of (Experience) and Farm in the enemy's favor completely tossing the game for 3 of us who were trying to play Couldn't do shit against a player who can counter, and got reported by them for who knows what just reported them back because of "Griefing."

Its very toxic having to deal with players who want to go "ADC" Jungle and just troll your own team champions like Kindred, Bard, Tahm Quench using their ultimate to intentionally throw people too.

Hmm... a surrender option available during champ selection to avoid the tilted, the toxic, and the 2-year olds..

Can't see this being effective as the issue still remains, the trolls. Sure you may avoid them that one game, then they just trickle into another queue and the impact is spread to others. Let's say there's a chance it did prove to fix behavior.. we all should realize that determined trolls will evolve like cancer cells. Instead of making their motives known in the lobby, the mayhem will now begin the second they are placed into the fountain. And for the next 20 minutes there's not a damn thing you can do except tolerate the nonsense.

WIth that in mind, It's a Nunu from me bro. Maybe an idea to combat the root of the problem is for the report option be made available in champ select and in game as well. That also has its' faults, but you get the jist. Getting rid of the toxicity altogether should be the main goal at hand- not just playing a game of hot potato to see who's the unlucky bunch to get stuck with a troll.

I've seen more people lose their shit and throw/feed with an optimally picked champion than someone picking some supposed invalid champion or strategy.
