Is This a Bug?

When I jungle I use Yi or Wukong. Both have this same problem. When I dash to a jungle camp, even if the monsters are in range, if they are not visible at the start of my Q (or for Wukong, E) then the move ignores those monsters.

This doesn't seem right...
