Dodging game glitch

I was queued up for a teambuilder game. After tons of waiting, we finally got our fifth player (a jungler) and all immediately locked in as ready. We didn't notice that he didn't have smite. I had already been through some miserable games earlier today and did not want to go through a similar experience. So, I stupidly dodged the queue, right as the "Prepare yourselves! A battle is about to begin..." message popped up (but before the timer started).

I decided I didn't want to wait half an hour to play another game, so I just screwed around in client, talking to people and looking at profiles of friends as normal.

I looked at my match history a few minutes ago to find out that I was apparently a part of that game, and the client didn't tell me about it...

Usually when this happens, I'll get a message saying "Hey, reconnect to your game!" But nope. Nothin'.

I probably shouldn't have dodged right as the "Prepare yourselves!" message popped up, but even so... why would the game just not disband my teambuilder group and call off the match since I quit before the loading screen process started?

Has this happened to anybody else? I really don't want to get in trouble for this, as I was completely unaware of the fact that a game even took place.
