Lag issues custom game error

Updated to 5.3, takes me like 15 tries to log in. Once I do, now I have very high ping. Usually I sit at about 80, but in my last game it was 300. When trying to make a custom game to test ping, I invited a friend who I could not see once he joined. When attempting to start the game I received an error saying "Error: This game has been changed by another player."
