100% sure the animation STARTED after she was already snared. I know W doesn't always dash, but she was clearly able to dash while snared

repeat after me 'small indie company'. maybe fixed when she needs a VGU. this game is fun, but ... the trash coding is seriously SERIOUSLY starting to drag on this game. Pretty sure you can't even Q as Talon while Snared even if you are melee. Not even available while snared.

yep, root doesn't inhibit basic attacks

so illaoi's W, rengar passive, hecarim E will still dash even if rooted.

I don't think that's correct, because I definitely remember plenty of times playing REngar with ult or in bush, and I can't AA until I'm no longer rooted.
