As far as I know you are meant to play 8 placement games before receiving a rank, despite this I somehow managed to get placed in Iron 4 with 64LP after a single match of ranked.

What my friend up there was trying to say is: By the rules of the new system the first game you play shows you the "rank" you are to be placed. After that you play your next placement games gaining a big amount of LP and skipping all promos until you go throught all the first placement games and the rank you are at now will be your real rank. After that you continue as defaul.

Lol is strange to be helpful at least once. Sorry, to keep myself in shape I gotta say it - git gud you casual. Best of luck now :D

Yeah I managed to figure that out eventually, been trying to get back into ranked so the sudden "you've unlocked Iron IV promotion" caught me off guard.

Been going well though, currently won every single match with only 4 left to go before my placements.
