Champ Select Freezing

So I just forfeited my series because the client froze and would not let me lock in a champion. I started having this issue around 2 patches ago, and it has caused me to dodge numerous times, but this is the first time in a ranked game. Does riot know about this bug? It is a pretty big deal gameplay wise to risk losing LP every time you queue up for a game, or possibly your series in the worst case scenario like what just happened to me. Please tell me something is being done about this. I play on a Macbook Air so this may be mac specific. Thank you.
