Team-Oriented vs. Being Selfish
Hello Summoners,
I've been playing league since 2013 and started my rank career in Season 3. After my first ever placements I got into Silver V and I thought I was SUPER GOOD at the game. I later found out that I was not all that and a bag of chips at League of Legends which came after being destroyed in lane and countless loss.
I was able to climb to Gold V in Season 4 but it was during "Pre-Season" or the time period after the Official ranking system is over. According to op.gg I was Silver in Season 4 and Gold V according to LolKing.com.
LONG story short, I've gotten better at the game. Limited the number of times I've died, always keeping vision, not chasing into unwarded jungles. I pretty much got the hang of "carrying" my games, BUT half carrying because even when going 12-2 or 13-3, still results in a loss. It is a team game after all. I can't win a game of league of legends all by myself... BUT.. then again.. maybe I actually can. KDA 8.8/5.4/8.8 (avg)
After some thinking and chatting/talking with a friend, I have come to the realization that.. I'm just too Team-Oriented.. Now that I've fallen back down to Silver V most of my games seem impossible to win due to the lack of communication most teams have. This is said even with my ability to go 24-4 most game where I take the leadership role and try to lead my team to victory. It is at the point where, team mates are simply ignoring pings and chat text as to what to do and look out for. I literally can anticipate and call out everything that the enemy team will most likely do towards mid/late game and I'm usually right. But when team mate A decides to split push alone while enemy team engages and dives tower with 5v4 and go off to win the game, it leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
So, what I've discovered is that, the champ pool I have is pretty large. I've narrowed it down to only playing Pantheon, Riven, Jayce (Top/Mid/Jun). Diana (Top/Mid/Jun). I use to main Graves and Jinx at ADC and Sona/Leona/Annie at supports.
I gave up on ADC because of getting supports who just didn't understand minion wave control and harrass/when to engage. Yes, I've had games where I was 12-0 at ADC and lose at the end of the game because of no peels. Low ELO and peeling... what is that?? Lol.
So pretty much. I've decided that I will in a way "cheese" my way out of Silver and back into Gold V this season. Master Yi, Udyr and Jax comes to mind. Whether I play them top or jungle and the objective is to farm decently and just push obj push obj.
These champs at a certain point in the game can solo dragons so that is awesome. TP does come in mind when playing these champs as well.
What do you guys think about this decision? Btw, feel free to look me up on Op.GG and you'll see where I've had a few consistent games with very good KDAs, some that don't lead to a win that should have with no doubt been a win.
TLDR; Decided to start playing selfish split push and solo objective champs because teams fail to listen to calls and fail to group.
Once you hit 6 run in your jungle and force fights in the most pushed lane with Skyfall. It is recommended you know about where their jungler is. Force 2v1 or 3v2. Even if you take all the kills your team has free lane to farm and will not "fall behind".
Keep an eye out on which buff the enemy jungler first comes out with. If you're doing very well (say 4/0) track the enemy buffs with wards or estimate spawn times using your own camps (the first clear everyone does around the same time and spawns the same time as well). Leave your lane and assassinate the jungler at a camp. You help your team by reducing enemy presence in lane. This can be done with any fed champ but Riven is especially good at this.
