So I recently came back as a break from other games, but I would like to know, what is the current meta in Summoners Rift? Mostly what does mid do since that is the role i've decided i'm going to main. The meta for champions, jungling as mid, when to rotate if you can. Thank you.

ModWulf Helhammer1 votesAssassins don't do all that well as they have been in the past, due to a resurgence in tanks, although they are still pretty strong picks But other than that, it's pretty much the same as it's always usually been
venvi1 votesTank meta. Having more tanks makes it easier and easier to win. Not necessarily full tanks though, like... a good mix of beefy fighters.
Assassins don't work anymore, at all. Because tank meta is cc/peel meta. So if you are used to assassins, pick someone like Ahri who can do aoe/cc/sustained damage but still be assassiny if she needs to be. Annie is also very good right now. Basically, you want cc, and you want aoe. Viktor is very good. Cho'gath is extremely powerful in the mid lane, and honestly very hard to lose with if you make sure a game keeps going ( No surrendering!) Lux is good, etc etc.
Jungle is kind of devourer meta, or cinderhulk. Though AP Evelynn is good. Be wary of that as a midlaner.
Ban Master Yi. Even if you know how to deal with him, your team probably won't.
Satyavan1 votesThanks, I actually had started working on ahri when I came back because I liked how she could chain. Then viktor was next to be worked on too, aside from azir. Is Azir any good in the meta or just avoid playing him?
Truely Fabulous1 votesIn my experience, Azir is very good but only if the player knows how to position him. However, he's pretty difficult to learn so I imagine only in high elo is he a real threat. Also, for whatever reason he seems to always have a stellar late game even if he's originally behind in lane.
I also havent played him after his nerf, but I don't think it will affect him that much.
Darknixx1 votesI see that most of you put tank meta. However, I personally thing the tank meta is starting to die. Right now, my favorite mid laners are burst mage assassins. These champions just have to walk up to you and kill you by using their entire combo. Some champions are Annie, Lux, and Jayce. Annie is my favorite because I am still low elo and not many people know what to do against her.
