Darius Viable still?
So, I know that Darius was really string a while ago, but do you guys think he can hold his own in ranked? If not, who would be a good champion to main?

Main whoever you want and get good with them. The issue with maining a strong or common pick is it risks being nerfed or people know how to play against it. Maining an uncommon pick means it won't be nerfed and people won't know how to play against it so you have a decent advantage from the get go if you are good with them.
Darius is good against melees and against late game hyper carries. He is pretty good if you can stomp your opponents hard enough and win early. I reccomend going

into full tank. He gets fkd by ranged champs so be careful. I feel like

He's an early game tank/bruiser that counters early game bruisers. If you pick him into someone he counters you can bully them out of lane, outfarm them, outscale them, and basically auto-win top if you're any good. Also his ult received an enormous buff allowing him to abuse his fantastic early game and carry lategame without ever falling off.

I'd say he is certainly viable. I main Darius in top lane and am climbing my way through Silver right now.
Darius' biggest draw IMHO is that he's a fairly "safe" pick, with few match-ups that are particularly hard. Even some match-ups that people hype up as impossible for Darius aren't as bad as they seem (like Teemo). He's an amazing lane bully and great for snowballing and dominating top lane. He falls off a bit late game, but not as bad as people say. Keep in mind that Darius is not a tank and certainly not an assassin. He's fairly tanky (but even then not to the same extent as a real tank like Sion), but has no hard initiate. He has great damage, but is pretty immobile. In team fights he best serves as a peeler, with his hook and movement/attack speed slows being good for the job. Darius should be able to easily peel and kill any assassin that isn't ahead, or at least force them to waste their cooldowns on escaping.
Because, as I said, he's not a tank, I usually prefer to run 21/9/0 masteries on Darius, to make my early snowball potential better, and typically start with longsword, though running 9/21/0 and going with a more defensive start is viable, especially in some match ups (like Teemo). For this same reason I usually prefer running ignite (except against Teemo).
Are there any matchups in particular you are wondering about?
Every champ is viable right now, even veigar or ww are decent if you know how to play them. Darius has a strong earlygame and falls off later but if you put your enemy irelia 0-4 by 15 minutes and got 2 turrets and drake for your team because of that then you ofc will still win the game.
