When I ward my objective is to prevent successful gank and keep track of the enemy's ADC/jungler. So I normally ward where the X is http://i.imgur.com/twKoiwi.png But is there anything else I can do to help my jungler? Such as warding somewhere else?
Warding dragon pit is huge.
Also, if you can ever roam and get kills that way it is also big.
a few more good warding spots if it is safe to go that far...
The banana brush just off river between purple side blue buff and mid lane. The pixel brush outside of dragon pit near mid lane. (one of these two serve to guard the entrances to the jungle along side a scuttle crab hopefully taken by your jungler)
if you are purple side and it is safe to get a deep ward in then...
brush behind the dragon pit next to red buff.
brush between raptor camp and lane.
and the lane brush for a tp gank if your top laner has tp.
Depending on what jungle the enemy team has decides my wards. I never ward the furthest left wards instead opting for a ward in the bush behind dragon pit, a pink in my tri bush and a ward by dragon or in the enemy jungle. This gives my team and jungler full vision of anyone coming into the jungle.
Maintaining strong warding is huge no matter who youre trying to help, but going all the way up to the 4 way split near the blue buff can be dangerous and its generally a better idea to just throw one over the wall in between gromp and blue. This will save you some travel time and could possible save your life if the enemy has vision of what youre doing.
Something else key to make note of for warding in general is learning what walls you can ward over, because you land wards over farther distances than the item range indicates if you place it in a certain way inside terrain. An example would be warding the top/bot lane river bush over the wall.
I know you were mostly asking about wards, but another thing I've found helpful as a jungler - if you're passing by during my clears (especially the first one) and you have a heal, I really appreciate a bit of a top-off. Played one game as Sej jungle (before 5.5) with a Sona mid (it was strange) and she popped her heal on me as I went from Raptors to my top jungle. Let me do a full six camp clear instead of only four. Shields are handy too, if I'm in the middle of clearing a camp.
