How to start jungling?

Their Jungler·5/25/2015, 2:01:04 AM·3 votes·777 views

I see people can take down wolves, buff and even gromp in one go...I take one monster and I'm at so low health that taking the second one can be achieved, but I must back right afterwards. How do people manage to do these camps level 1/2 and still be able to go on? Does it have to do something with masteries? I'm only level 16, so I would not know. Also, what camp should I start?

The first step is mentally getting used to the blame you'll be getting and whiners.

Then you realize that even if you have 20 kills, due to not having range, you can't solo carry 1v5

Then you realize that you have to play ADC to carry because most ADCs below diamond have the decision making abilities of a potato.

I agree with guile. Warwick is a nice starting jungler because of his hp sustain, so it's best to go for him to begin with. He's also still a pretty relevant pick, so don't worry about getting a lemon.Warwick

Masteries and runes are pretty important for jungle sustain. You need armor seals, and some good damage or attack speeds marks if you want to clear the first few camps easily. There are however some cheap champs who have natural sustain like Fiddlesticks and Warwick for example.

"Gank shit. Buy a ward. Don't feed.

You're on your way to diamond." -Sky Williams.

But in all seriousness, you need runes. Level 16 is just too low to have the runes you need (level 20 to buy tier three runes). To jungle, you need at minimum all your armor seals and your offensive/defensive marks and quints (depending if you take a tank, bruiser, or whatever else).

For your first camp, you need a leash. Lower levels don't understand this. Somehow it doesn't occur to them that maybe giving a leash to the person they'll be asking for ganks from is a good idea.

Save a smite for red buff if you need to. It gives health. Buy health pots.

Don't be afraid to recall after a couple clears, though. You don't have to do full clears (and it's not always a good idea anyway). Get trailblazer smite if jungling hurts too much, it really helps sustain.

Shyvana clears very fast and scales great. However her first clear is perilous honestly. That is normal for Shyvana.

As a Shyvana jungle or any jungle in general it is very helpful you smite red for extra hp and gromp for the poison armor effect for your clearing. I Actually suggest starting red with a leash and smiting red to restore hp. Or start gromp frog thing at blue side and smite for poison armor which does damage to camps that hit you (it's very good)

Ima give you an uncommon suggestion but if you wish you may skip blue as Shyvana from gromp start. Do it later when you are stronger. Or if you started red side I recommend just doing red with leash (it is common practice to start golems with leash and smite for the stun effect golems give but this start is overrated imo; just start red for health and skip golems and work your way across the jungle)

Runes and mastery setups.

Your level 16, the jungle is going to hurt you.
