When or when not to give up on games
When should you give up on games? Many ranked players may say:
Never!
I have to say this: Only give up if the enemy team is better in ALL aspects! Here is a list to cross off: -Wards, are they just dominating you in vision control? -Kills(Most obvious but also misleading), are they so much fed? -Creep score, are your creep score worse than theirs? (Compare adc's to adc's) -Objective control, are they taking objectives with each win of fights, or are they just getting the kills, and kills only? -Do the important carries have the gold, or what is going on? -Who was better during laning phase? Even if they got a couple of kills on you during laning phase, did you think you could've survived/gotten a kill? -Do YOU think you can win?
Here is just a perfect example of why sticking around may be a good idea: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1645409369/201449717?tab=overview ^ If you look at the team gold advantage chart you'll be dropping your jaw on how that comeback was even possible. Here is my list that went through my mind: -We're even in ward control but my team drops their wards more often!(Good to us) -They're really high in kills (Bad to us) -I got about 50 more creep score than their adc, but we were behind in cs by 10's per player(bad to us) -Their not taking their objectives when they ace us(Good to us) -Their tank has a lot of the gold, and the mid laner who has high cooldowns has the 2nd highest! (Good to us) -They were better at laning, but i had more control(Good to us) -I was the only one who thought we could win
Now look at the facts that's a lot more good than bad, but when your in that game you don't think straight and when you get pressured like crazy you automatically think: not even possible. But if you can think straight and start listing off the facts you can easily tell who's the better team, but don't overestimate yourself, because if their not getting objectives after an ace, and your team doesn't do objectives for ANYTHING, then it's a neutral thing. You didn't win at that, or lose at that. Now... the hardest thing to teach here is about the part of the list is the last thing to cross off...:
"-Do YOU think you can win?"
This is only explained by how you feel towards the game. If you really think you can do something, you HAVE to make your team acknowledge their faults, HOWEVER to push their pros. If you guys aren't getting towers after killing their adc/carry , then try to encourage it(Within reason). Creep score is something hard to enforce, so I'd personally skip that one.(To encourage your team mates to do better at anyhow) If your jungler is a tank and nothing but a cc tank, try to make him give up some of those kills to his teammates because he can't do anything by himself! All of these are just examples on how to imply"-Do YOU think you can win?" part of the list.
