Cho vs Yorick

I need some tips on how to lane against a Yorick. Every other source I've gone to only mentions I can sustain off his minions, but that's about it. The laning phase is super rough due to the amount of harass he can do. I can barely farm anything. He didn't really get kills, we traded off really, but his cs was 20-30 higher than mine cause I could barely survive his harassment.

The vast majority of champions don't lane against a Yorick. They survive lane against a Yorick.

Don't die. Even if it means backing and losing 10 cs or so. Yorick's laning is the best part about him. If you don't feed him and manage to scrounge up at least respectable cs numbers, you'll be infinitely more useful than he will come mid and late game and it's teamfights.

Constant burst. Im a big yorick main, i have trouble with alot of MonkeyKing some Irelia . Thing is after level 3 hes pretty big if left to get any farm. If you dont burst him its likely youll lose. Chogath is NOT good against yorick, i repeat NOT good. Any half way decent yorick will just get MR and boots early dodge your Q and win all day long. Only thing cho really has is the bite for when yorick is low but if yorick gets ahead at all it will be miserable for cho.

I'm really confused right now because Cho'gath is actually Yorick's worst match up. Cho out sustains him early and that silence makes his harass non existent. Yorick has no escapes or mobility and is super vulnerable to cc so Cho's slow is extremely brutal. You can heal off of his ghouls and since Yorick is better of in prolonged duels where he can outsustain with omine of famine, Cho's burst is perfect for demolishing Yorick. Vorpal spikes makes it impossible for yorick to push against Cho'gath without going oom. The only other champions that give yorick almost as much trouble as cho'gath is Nunu and Trundle. The main thing though is that Cho'gath can't let himself get pushed in by Yorick, he has to get early control of the lane, and he can't afford to miss any ruptures or silences. If Cho'gath does everything right Yorick loses hard.

As Cho I would just max E for constant free aoe damage. In this situation it's better than the steady burst/poke from W; it's not gated by a cooldown. You can probably outpush Yorick this way, and recall when you need after the lane is cleared.

I tend to like E max versus melee champs. But W max is generally more popular for good reasons, as it lets you burst and silence for longer. Versus squishier mages or assassins without sustain (cho mid is really good) W max can be really great

Vs Yorick

Max E, be safe, get Q/W, max W next. You can start fighting at 6, he'll hurt, but after 1-2 wins in lane, you just become a hyperbully, more so than before. If the enemy jungle doesn't gank then the lane is over. (I went for a rabadon then pure tank afterwards and just laughed at yorick) If you push too hard and he freezes, if you're post6 just roam down river or to gromp/rock things and eat them for stacks while you wait for lane to thaw.

Dude o.o When I use to main Yorick in ranked during season 3, Cho'Gath and Nasus were my biggest problems. Yorick is caster type, so using silence is really effective against him. To be honest, you might not be playing the right way when facing him. Just letting you know, Yorick is EXTREMELY weak early. It might not seem like it but trust me. As Cho gath you have everything to be able to pressure him out. Just attack him and max W first. Getting ROA should give you enough W spam to zone him out.

You can also out-sustain him. Also, getting ignite on cho and doing the ult + ignite can make you deal a total of 500/800/1100-1200 true damage based on lv 6/11/16-18. Early game, Yorick will be building a tear/iceborn because he has intensive mana problems, that means squishy! And squishy targets areamazing with cho'gath's total destructive true damage.

EDIT: If some comments are telling you to play safe when facing a Yorick as a Cho'Gath is because they've never played the lane and don't know what they're talking about. I've played it dozens of times in ranked. I don't want to be disrespectful, but please ignore those comments. I don't think they know what they're talking about.

If you last hit his ghouls you get extra HP and Mana IIRC

I will admit, I haven't played cho. But I play Yorick some and cho is a problem. I normally love the AP matchups if I am laning because I can build damage right away(after tear) and still get resists with maw/mercurial. But Cho has longer range than yorick. Yorick comes in, and gets silenced before he can get minion off. Cho throws down his knockup and walks away after taking no damage and winning this trade. Yorick is slow, is melee, and if he can't get in range for ghouls without being silenced then he has little chance of walking up to you and hitting you when you have cc. Cho has more burst damage than yorick at least by level 6. before long yorick will have no hps from either building mana or damage, but be able to do almost nothing to cho. cho's aoe can killl off yoricks ult. All I can think of for yorick to do in this matchup would be to hit q and flash in and stick with you while he waits for silences to run out. I wouldn't really want to all in against cho early game. I am guessing your problem here is what other laners have against yorick, yorick's advantage is that people don't see him enough to learn how he works well enough. Since it is the biggest advantage I have when playing him, I won't point out the more general mistakes people make playing against him.
