PSA: Helpful tips for new players on interactive abilities

I recently had a game with someone who wasn't familiar with how Bard's health stations and tunnels work. I gave it some thought and realized that their are quite a few abilities on certain champs that require you or teammate to have some knowledge on how it works to get the best use out of them. It can be a pain to explain (in full detail) mid game how they work, So I decided to make this to outline these abilities and hopefully help people who don't quite know how these abilities work:

Bard

  • Healing stations: if you run over these, you will heal for a small amount make you run faster for a few seconds,BUT, If you leave it for a while, It will charge and heal you for a larger amount. It will make a noise to let you know when It's been fully charged

  • Tunnels: these allow you to go through a wall to reach an enemy or escape pursuers. enemies can use them, but they will go through slower than you and a good bard might be ready with his stun on there way out. Shen

  • Vaporal blade: when you see a blade over an enemy's head, attacking that enemy with any basic attacks and abilities will heal you. think of it like him painting a target to call an airstrike on, and you are the airstrike. Thresh

  • lantern: when thresh tosses his lantern, it will obviously shield you, that doesn't need explaining. what might need more explanation is that if you click the lantern it will pull you to him, possibly saving you from ganks or dangerous situations. it's upgraded with an indicator to make this more obvious, but it doesn't hurt to mention it to be sure. Taric

  • Shatter: when you see crystals form around taric, he has gained extra armor and so have you (as long as you are near him). this will allow for some slightly more gutsy plays, but do keep in mind that it's only a little extra armor in the beginning and when he shatters it near an enemy, the enemy's armor will be lowered, but it will lower his as well.

  • Radiance (his ult): when he slams his hammer down and starts glowing, he has increased your and any near by teammates attack damage and ability power. If he activates it, he (hopefully) has a plan, it's your job to follow up on it (like how it's his to give you some warning) MonkeyKing

  • Decoy: a fairly straightforward ability. activate, creates a decoy, you go invisible, tricks the opponent. problem is, people start to realize when you used decoy and will actively run past it knowing you will pop up in a second. what can help is a fake decoy, which is more than just you stop running. If you press S, it you will immediately stop whatever you are doing, even attacking. This will look exactly like you used decoy and can fool the enemy. word of warning: this does not always work (and they might have a vision ward making decoy pointless till it's destroyed), so good judgement is important. if they haven't been falling for decoys, a fake decoy is worth a try.

If anyone knows of any other abilities with a mechanic that would be helpful to know (especially for new players), feel free to add on to this with a comment explaining how it works.

You forgot some of the other cooperative based champs.

Kalista

  • Oathworn: Usually done at the beginning of the game, Kalista creates a tether between herself and an Ally. If you see her hurl a spear at you or notice you can't move and hear a loud Dwombbbb sound, then you're the lucky player. Click the spear or wait a little and you and Kali become BFFs for life. Being BFFs comes with perks

  • Sentinel: If kalista or you attacks something, you'll see a little icon pop up half-full. If the other Bestie hits it before it goes away it does more damage. The damage is always considered Kalista's, so you can even use it to help her farm.

  • Fate's Call: Kalista makes you a ghost and brings you to her. When you guys have successfully Bro-tapped, you may right click whereever you want to be propelled outward toward that direction. If you hit enemies you knock them up, you return to your max autoattack range, so if you're squishy knocking someone up won't auto-kill you.

Braum

  • Concussive blows: If you see Our mustachio'd macho man hit someone and a little picture comes up on your enemy, you may attack it to fill up the picture. Once its full (4 shots), your enemy will be stunned.

  • Unbreakable: If you see a big block of ice coming out of your support's shield, then you can take refuge behind it. Any attacks that come from the direction the wall is facing will be directed to Braum instead, and the first attack it takes has its damage negated entirely.

  • Stand Behind me: If our Gentleman savant Doorman bounds to your aid and you see a little shield below your feet, then you are standing behind Braum, and have your resistances buffed temporarily

TahmKench

  • Devour: If Catfish satan turns blue and you find yourself hurled into his stomache, then congratulations! You've been devoured! TK may use this to aid you in getting to an enemy, or can save your bacon by eating you out of a bad situation. If you see an enemy disappear into your Bayou Buddy and he turns red, then he's digesting them. They'll come out a little worse for wear, but while they're in his stomach they can't enjoy the view and won't be able to see much beyond your portly pufferfish's gullet. He'll move slow, and regurgitate them in a little, a bit worse for wear but you can take advantage of the time to fight without them in the way.

  • Abyssal Voyage: If Lobster Dinner's mouth is bigger than usual and a curvy trail points out in the distance, then Chances are he wants to take you out on the town. right click him and you'll jump in his mouth and go on a magical friendship journey to wherever the river's path points to. Its impolite to make a gentleman wait, so be sure to respond quickly if you're going, or ping him if you'd rather not.

I'm no expert just another bronzie lol. But I think I saw Krepo using this trick. It was a Thresh and Urgot combo.

Basically, Thresh throws out his lantern onto Urgot, while Thresh is under tower. Then, Urgot surpresses the enemy ADC, takes the lantern, therefore putting him in the position where he can easily kill and attack the enemy support, who is now alone. Meanwhile, the enemy ADC is now with thresh under tower. Thresh hooks in the enemy ADC, using whatever ability, his e or r or both. This should kill the enemy ADC, if it doesn't, Urgot should be able to turn around and kill the running ADC.

Hopefully this tip works. Try it out! It may take a bit of practice, though, s don't expect it to go 100% perfect on your first try.
