Question About Ranked

I am not a very good league of legends player and i understand that. I am currently bronze one. Some games I have are normal ranked games but for the majority of my games I'm matched with players out of my league by far. Using lolnexus, I was able to spot a few of these. While I'm bronze one, my team is usually all always silver 4/5 (I'm always last pick :c). And as well, today someone on the other team I was against was silver 3. That's 3 divisions above me. I don't know quite how these games work but can I not get matched with anyone closer to me? Just a question Zilean

The skill difference between Bronze 1 and Silver 3 is not particularly big, actually. If you're losing a lot, it's more likely because you're not supposed to be at your mm4.

The MMR system is fairly broken. It can match some of the oddest things together in ranked games. Not to say it's anywhere near as bad as the normal MMR where you could be Bronze 5 and go against a Diamond 1, but for ranked it usually places people between two-three divs of each other.

I was Gold 5 last season and would play against & with anywhere from Gold V-III, as well as Silvers.. So yeah it's not the most evened out in matching people.

Well with ranked the games will almost always have players around your skill level unless your have either high mmr or are duoing with someone higher than you. With normals i think its different and you will always find players from a bunch of different skill levels as i have seem to found out by playing.

So first off, your opponents in ranked are almost always fairly picked. Ranked appears to be far more picky than norms. 2ndly, pick order is pretty irrelevant nowadays. Its randomized and has been for a while now.

Usually high Bronze I is considered low Silver 5 so it means your MMR must be high. Keep in mind league tries to even out the MMR of the teams so putting a Bronze I in a mostly low silver game would even out the MMR; makes sense? XD

if you are lets say bronze 1 and they are silver 4-5 it's basicly the same elo so don't worry about it.
