If you have 800 gold and are going to be dead for a time, pick up . When you re-spawn you can undo the buy and keep the gold it generated. That few extra gold is completely free. Who doesn't love free money?

When you refund it, the gold you got from it is removed as well.

I don't think they will nerf it. assumin you have a respawn time of 50 sec (level 18 before 25 min mark) you only get 15 extra gold... that's not even enough for a pot.
