I was thinking about buying Viktor and I have been playing league for about 4 weeks now and am OK at the game. I have 5000 IP. Should I buy him?

He is a fun champion to play. But the key for him is his Prototype Hextech Core which he can NEVER sell but only upgrade. That thing gives you more power then you think. It gives Ability Power per level, and mana per level. The per level boosts get better with each upgrade. Not only that it boosts the effectiveness of his abilities giving them added affects. Depending on which one you choose at which time. Whether you get him though is truly up to you. I'm just trying to give you a fair warning on something that is VERY important to him.

If you want to go on ranked annie is more reliable damage dealer. Viktor punishes you heavily if you miss your most damaging deal e and makes you go on tilt easily.

If Viktor was so easy to play then faker would have got a penta this season when played viktor. If you don't farm enough you will be behind the enemy team and this situation punishes viktor heavily than most other champions.

Also you need excellent teamwork and strategic positioning on top of godly mechanics.

If you practice mastering Annie you can climb very quickly and would reach from bronze to plat.

If you 1) think he's rad (and he is) or 2) like his kit (bc it's rad) or 3) think he's strong and want to try him out (bc he is), then get him. He was the 3rd champion i ever bought (way back in S2), and that was BEFORE his rework that made him a strong pick.

Be aware that he's not an easy champion to master, and his E, a vector skillshot like Rumble's Ult, is tricky to learn (i can't hit it using smartcast). That said, with some practice, he's a strong champion. He has a strong laning phase against most non-assassin matchups, has great teamfight presence, and godly late game damage once you fully upgrade his hextech core.

Go for it bud! :)

Viktor is fun to play but he is a high skill champion to play effectively. Maybe wait til he's free and try him out?
