Elise Jungle?

This is probably the wrong place for it (first post, if it is in the wrong place please redirect me), but For awhile now I have been looking into getting the "Spider Queen" Elise. Back when I was "Very" Interested in purchasing her there were many guides for Jg, etc. AKA form what I got out of it was that she was a good Jungle, with greater gank capabilities. After the new map(extended summoners rift) and the nerfs to her(lowering Jungle capabilities in lower tiers) the Guides went from Jungle to Hybrids and AP Builds.... My Question is, should I dedicate the time to research her with IP (Or flat buy it with RP [Would rather not, I like to invest in skins]) and what is the best position for her? I asked around and even a few people (whom I consider friends outside of league) said shes not worth it. I prefer Tank/Junglers over squishy champions, Vi is in the middle for me as late game she can hold her own very well.
