Noob Having Trouble Farming in the Jungle

Hello,

As a brand new player, there are many aspects of League gameplay that I am still trying to figure out and apply. However, the most prominent of these aspects (because I am trying to get the hang of the role of jungler with Kha'Zix) is farming, more specifically farming in the jungle. My issue is not being able to farm efficiently and quickly enough to gain levels and keep up with the rest of my team and stay a step above my enemy. I either die trying to pick on stronger neutral monsters or lose so much health in my attempts to do so that I have to recall constantly; and by 10 minutes in, I'm already behind 3+ levels from all other players. What I'm looking for in an answer would include: what items/build should I have for Kha'Zix, which type of monsters should I begin attacking during early game, and in general what are some good strategies or what should a jungler such as Zix be accomplishing as the game progresses. Any responses pertaining to the above and/or any extra tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas :) ,

Bruno (TheSwexican) Khazix

that camp with the creepy birds, take out the 3 little ones before the big one this is the only camp where I found it better to focus the little ones first

Well if you aren't above level 20, jungling is not a good option unless you play Nunu or Master Yi, because they have a lot of sustain in the jungle. I would say play them until you hit level 20, then buy proper runes and set up a mastery page for jungling.

Everyone's having this problem. The jungle timers were changed, and it's very difficult to stay even through pure farming, and this problem is exacerbated by how horrendously tough the monsters are.

-Learn an efficient route for the champ you want to use -Fiddle with your masteries and runes till you can run the route with enough health to gank -gank

Sustain and AoE are highly valued for powerfarming in this jungle.

Yea, at level 7 you're better off staying with higher sustain junglers to start with. Try playing with Warwick, Fiddlesticks, or Nunu at your level. As you get more experience, runes and mysteries will open up other options for you. Don't worry if you're not doing as good as someone higher level then you. That will come in time, and, most importantly, welcome to league!

ZOMG. I'm a newly starting Jungler as well, and the shift in the jungler meta is just so ARRRGH for me. I keep getting killed in the jungle(Do mind- I almost never give the enemy team kills :P[okay, just a too much exaggeration :P]) So here are the stuff I found to be REALLY helpful:

1 Masteries: Having the masteries in defence just enough to get bladed armor, enchancted armor and tough skin is a bliss. Helps you survive the through beating oh so good. Potions are actually being used in the modern jungle now. Well that's a plus. As ww, I'd wonder when I'd actually use my 5 pots in the early jungle :P

2Runes: WHAT?! Runes?! Yea. Well, I'm almost 14 now, but I've actually bought a full set of runes(tier 1) just so that I can have a little better time jungling that that random 1350 IP. Yea, yea. I know that ppl will laugh at me when I say I bought runes, but it doesn't hurt so much if you take some arm pen or armor or health runes, so that you'll have a infinitesimally better jungling. Take a quint, and some marks/seals, just a few, so that you can enhance your jungling by a bit

  1. Focus Focus on more sustain based champions, or champions that are ridiculously good at clearing maps. But right now, I'd advice playing Fiddlesticks, nunu, warwick, and yi (But he's really hard to do anything without runes, tho. tbh). Once you get like 13 mastery points and a few runeslot, you'll be able to play more complex champs and champs with no sustain.

4.Leash Ask for a heavy leash, so that you don't have to use health pots. But do signal ur frens to retreat if the minion health is falling too low- they'll get the experience for the monster if they're around it when it dies too. That way, you'll at least be able to clear two camps( i.e., 2 lvls) before u b and buy ur advanced jungler item, a ward and some health pots.

  1. Ranger's Trailblazer

Yea, that chilling smite, or that challeger's smite MIGHT seem attractive, but rangers actually gives that small HP/mana reward on smiting a monster. Make sure to use it so that it's less hectic.

6.Path: Say you're going to take blue all alone. You'll die 100% if you've got no pots/sustain. So what do you do? Take the neutral camp buffs. Stuff like that gromp's poison/that mini golem's stun are so useful that you'll mostly smite them than other stuff. Do note that those buffs can be acquired without killing the monster. Just smite and scoot. Also, don't take on those raptors unless you're like 100% health, or with healthpots and/or lvl 4+. They'll slowly pluck off your flesh and kill you.

7.Worst Case scenario: Take heal. Yea, it's lame. But atleast they won't laugh at you for dieing to a buff :P

All in all, be really wary of invades and stuff. NEVER walk around with 50%- health if you've got no escape spells. As shaco, I take heavy leash + 3 JITBs on blue, go over to enemy red, take it and then I wait at the raptor bush with as much as JITBs as I can muster. I just ignite, then aa the champ, so that either I get a) a successful flash with health pots burnt and me having a psychological edge. or b) I just keep poking him with my aa whilst he's feared + running away till finally when he gets my e and gives me first blood, STILL giving me the psychological edge.

People are too careless when they go inside their own jungle. You never know what pops out and kicks ur butt hard :'(

Honestly, I would recommend that you start each game duo-laning with your top, then move to the jungle once you've leveled up enough in game to survive better. With the new tougher jungle and no access to full tier-3 runes, you're shooting yourself in the foot if you try to jungle with anybody outside of a select few (Fiddle, Warwick, Nunu mostly... even Yi has a hard time early on).

Being underleveled is unavoidable in the new jungle, it kinda sucks but there's really nothing you can do about it.

I don't play Kha'zix, and I'm not entirely sure how good he is right now, but from experience...

  1. Never die to monsters, if not for the death timers, think about the humiliation when every player hears "executed"!
  2. Don't hesitate to use your potions. You can get pretty far with your path if you use them just right.
  3. You know red buff's smite effect? Super helpful.

Other than that, I'm not a jungle main, (in fact it's one of my weakest roles), so this is just the tip of the iceberg. I wish you luck in your games and happy holidays!
