My advices for Climbing (I'm Diamond) - Some may be repetitive but it's still great guidelines!

Just some of the best advises I could come up with for the moment after playing this game for about 4 years. I main off-meta, my favorites are Zyra Jungle and AP jax Jungle and I'm currently ranked in Diamond on EUNE and I get to struggle with people who wanna see me fail or troll me over my picks every day, but there is also those players who motivates me into continue playing and making it all worth. Become that player who motivates other by your positive energy and skills instead of making a circle of all the hate in the community.

I'm not saying I know all about this game and that I'm the best at it, I'm far from it and I'm still taking huge joy from improving and learning more. I'm just sharing what I know.

This is what you shall do if you wanna climb & improve

Time Yeah, it's gonna be time consuming to climb. Don't expect that you will manage to gain higher elo before you learn what the game actually is about and to master all champ instantly. Give it time, get some experience.

FOLLOW YOUR TEAM This is a 5vs5 game, you will most likely not succeed if you consider yourself more worth & better than your teammates. You might have better individual skills with your champs, but you are still at the same elo. There is no reason to start comparing yourself with others or tell them that they are noobs no matter how bad they are. Give them advises on what to build instead or what to do without sounding like a douche, if you have the time tell him why you recommend it also :) For example: "It would be great getting a Banshee this game, it can really help you from getting bursted."

Show appreciation towards teammates when they do something good A "Thank You" or "Good Job" might seem like a small gesture, but in a 5vs5 game where 5 random people are playing with each other it's can make a huge difference spreading positive energy. Your job is to bring the team together so you are working together as a team and not divided because someone got mad.
** I think you all get a little extra motivated when you make a nice play and someone says "Well played man". So try us that to your advantage. Everyone should be happy and having fun, that is what it's all about in the first place! **

Help your teammates Don't stand farming while your jungler gank or if a teammate nearby is in need of your assistance. A typical example lower elo is where the Support get caught and the ADC totally ignores it while farming instead of using all damage he has against the enemy carry to deny him from dealing damage to his support. Denying the enemy a kill on teammate is just as, if not even more important as getting a kill.

Consider teamcomp while picking your lane/champ Take a look at what the enemy team has picked and your teammates, building a strong teamcomp is one of the keys to success. Some champs will give you an advantage, counter-picking is always a great idea as long as you master that champ.

Learn to master all roles There will be games where you won't get your main lane, it's great to focus on a lane but you should also be prepared to fill out whatever your team needs for the game. You should always do what's best for your team. You can always take your main the next game.

Don't say you go support if you won't buy items like "Locket of Solari" if that enemy Kata player has started getting some damage. ...or take jungle only because you want to farm uninterrupted and don't have any intention on helping your team on their lanes. Because then you are denying your team that specific role, the roles are there to create a balance between the players, don't ruin that by thinking you can get a easy win by taking support. Being support is just as important as being ADC, you just have different roles to fulfill.

Learn the items When you learn how all the items works for each champ, you will be able to counter-build the enemy team and not follow some build guide blindly. It's always best building after what the game needs at the moment & with the right items you can become unstoppable or be able to keep your teammates alive :)

Communicate using ping It's so easy to WARN your teammates properly by using 3 pings in a row when a enemy jungler is heading their lane or when your opponent is missing from your lane. Also pinging for assistance is a great way to get people to group and teamwork. Heading to help a teammate? Ping that you are on the way so he knows that and can start preparing for your arrival.

Loosing lane? _Then don't make the game lost for everyone else in your team, just because you are having a bad game doesn't mean another teammate isn't able to carry the game. It sucks being behind, but just do your best and try keeping distance and minimize the deaths. Give your jungler a chance to help you and stop go damage only when you are already dying before you reach the farm. Having a pink ward is a great invitation for your jungler :)

Keep an eye on TIMERS _ Pressing TAB will give you an overview of all the jungle timers, it's important to recall in time and start warding to prepare when drake/baron is up to gain the advantage, don't depend on everyone else to clear the objectives. It's also very important to know the death-timers, so you know how much time you got to push before you risk dying by overstaying. (That is why you fight in the first place, not the other way around ;) )_

Keep your lane warded - It's so cheap that it's only stupid not to ward! Wards will not only save your life which keeps you from loosing xp and gold, but also give you an advantage over the enemy team. It's not only up to the support to ward. I recommend at least having 1 pink active for each teammates. It's really worth the investment, having vision will make it so much easier for the jungler to make successful ganks. The jungler will most likely ignore ganking or die trying a loosing lane who lack vision because it can backfire and make things worse and if he fails the typical "Blame The Jungler" game begins in the team chat.

This is what you shouldn't do if you wanna go upwards! :)

Don't let people break you down This is one of the most important things. Accept the fact that some games is out of your hands, there will be games with afks, trolls or feeders. But never give up, the game is ALWAYS winnable no matter!

Some people might flame you on a bad game and that is the last thing you need. Remember that YOU are GOOD, you are just having a bad game. Mute them if the flame repeats. You can write "I'm having bad game, but I'm really good at this champ, just need to recover a little and I will be more useful for team" to assure your teammates that you actually can play your champ and that you are doing your best.

Don't play champs you haven't played much in ranked You might be able to pull it through decently, but it's too risky. You don't know EXACTLY how much damage you will deal at x situation, the range of your spells and the CD's, it takes a long time to master a champ! Don't try a champ just because it's good at the moment or because you had a great normal game. Especially at higher elo

Don't take advises as flame & learn to see your flaws Some people might actually know more about this game than you, rather than being ignorant when someone is handing out a free advice to you, you should be grateful and take that advice and make yourself into a better player. You will never become BETTER at this game if you think you are doing perfect every game, learn to see what you did wrong and have you can prevent that from repeating.

**Don't flame, blame, use bad language or refuse to group with team. ** Using bad language isn't the way you should communicate with people.

You are all in the same team & sharing the same goal, destroying the enemy nexus. Never forget that.

Don't jump on the horrible trend to use Cancer as a term for a bad player or wishing people or their families cancer. You should always make sure to report people showing such immature and disrespectful behavior. It's really horrible to see this picking on so fast and that the younger generations are seeming to like using the word as a substitute for "You suck". Come on guys, you can do better than this :)

Don't continue playing if on a loosing streak or being on a negative mode If you are negative already you have a way bigger chance for loosing your game. It's better to do something else then, get some exercise, read a book or something else that will clear your mind and refilling your gaming hype bar so you are ready to win some games when you get back!

Teammate playing bad? Then don't rub it in their face and make them mad or loose their focus even more, they will need all the focus they can manage to collect to recover , it will only make them think **"Screw this, why should I even try my best for this guy? I'll rather see him loose" ** if you start being rude against him. Try motivate him with some of your amazing charm and make sure he receive some help from your team! Some players are great but their minds and motivation been sabotage by to many trolls, flamers or other things causing a negative mood.

Some people are already mad before the game starts and when you see someone being negative before game in Champ Select, try making them hyped for this game and assure them you will do your absolute best. If they still show no sign of improvement the best thing is to dodge. You are just risking getting a teammate who spreads toxic attitude, start flaming or rage-quit after feeding.

**Have you already started playing a game and a troll/flamer starts showing his true nature the best thing is to mute them and give them no attention at all. **Don't write about them, just focus on your game and trust your skill, you might still be able to win it. Never give up! Even if you loose, you will still improve your skills since you play versus harder opponents.

The trolls are just looking for attention without knowing it themselves and when they won't get that attention they might feel left outside when they see how good you all play and how much fun you are having. Tell teammates to mute other flaming teammates, it will only create a bad environment for teamwork and some people just can't resist to reply to a message, even though the timing to respond is really bad and might get them killed.

I would still say the best advice is treating everyone with respect and not to get distracted by kill and deaths stats, remember the game is about pushing to destroy your enemies nexus. Not having a great KDA. If someone is picking on you during a bad game just press "Mute" to stay focused. If you have the advantage make sure to actually end the game.

Now be nice, have fun & I hope some beginners might get something useful out of this text! If you read all of this you are on a good way towards climbing, you wont improve unless you are willing to learn more.

I also recommend to look up some build guides to get a better understanding on how that specific champ works and what combos to use and etc

This is all good info, but the problem is trolls... Bronze/silver 50% of the games have trolls in them. If they dont get their way they just feed or troll.

teammate does bad, someone flames them. the person who gets flamed does worse/feeds/afks. the person says how their team is always bad.

teammate does bad, someone conforts them, the person relaxes a little bit and tries to continue and plays safer even sometimes, the game is recoverable since it's still 5v5, wins with good focus.

this isn't every case of course, but I've notice this does happen. I've actually gotten people to not troll/stop trolling. I've had people flame teammates also and they go afk and the flamer blames his teammates when they made it worse.
