Repost from my post on Reddit: Quinn tips and tricks
Quinn has, while not the most damage, a kit that is perfect for a top laner. Although she is a viable adc, she is 30-40% stronger in top lane. Don't play her adc unless you truly think you know how to play her(I've been "maining" her for 2 or so seasons and I still play her mostly top). Let's stop my random talking and get on with why her kit is so amazing. Her passive: Harrier. This is the source of Quinn's lane bullying. Considering you are in a solo lane and the fact that Harrier prioritizes nearby champions, you should always be able to mark the enemy top laner and get extra damage off on them.** TIP: The way to take maximum advantage of harrier is to always move towards the enemy champ when harrier's cd is about over. If you are not close to the enemy champion, Harrier will mark a nearby minion instead.** Her Q: Blinding Assault. While Harrier gives you poking/harassing potential, your Q is what gives you your dueling potential. It is basically an AOE damage spell that blinds as well. Use of this is essential to winning lane. For example, you could win lane from a jax by blinding him as you two start dueling and you would negate much of his auto attack damage. The trick to Q is knowing when to keep it and when to use it as a poke spell. If you are up against a champion like Mundo who doesn't rely on auto attacks, you should prioritize poking him down with your Q. Her W: Heightened Senses. While the active is pretty straight forward in that it gives you vision in a circular range for two seconds, it is the two passives that are usually missed by summoners new to Quinn. The first one, which is the one that applies to human form, gives Quinn an increase in attack speed and movement speed after procing an enemy unit or neutral monster with harrier. This lets you follow up your Harrier damage with a string of quick auto attacks. In addition, it is easier to kite, escape faster, and/or chase with the movement speed. Moving on, the other W passive is used in Valor form. It is pretty straight forward in that it gives you attack speed per rank of W as Valor. What most people tend to forget is that they leave W with one point into it. Although that isn't a bad option, putting a second point into W before maxing Q and E is a good investment for your ult. Her E: Vault. My favorite spell in Quinn's kit. You can either use it to chase, run, or poke down. It's very fun... and obnoxious every time you E someone and they flash over a wall only to have your E take you over the wall with them. In addition, you can use E to follow a Zed to his return to his shadow if you use your E correctly. There are just so many choices you can make. The best tip I can give you about Vault is to remember that it marks an enemy with your passive Harrier. So in effect, you can proc the passive, E, and be able to proc passive again. This simple combo is devastating in terms of damage to the enemy top laner. Their are two things that summoners not familiar to Quinn don't take into account about her Vault. The first is that Vault slows the enemy champion's movement speed by 50%. This effect diminishes over two seconds, but can be huge in terms of you trying to chase or escape. The even more important effect is that it's a knockback. This could be a huge factor in terms of stopping Shen ult, a tp, or if you are quick enough you can knockback champions like Jax in midair and stop their leaps/gap-closers. Her Ult: Tag Team. Not much to say here. On the first cast, you turn into Valor and fight as Valor for 20 seconds or till your second cast of ult. The 80/90/100% extra Movement Speed is great for scenarios such as ulting into lane to save turret, chasing an enemy down, or ulting out of a gank. Just remember that the extra movement speed decreases 20/30/40 when in combat. The second part of her ult comes after 20 seconds or when you cast ult again. Quinn returns to the battlefield and performs a decent AOE damage to all hostile units in the range. Keep in mind that the lower the enemy units are, the more damage they take. So use it somewhat like a finishing blow. I hope this helps anyone who was interested in trying out Quinn :) If you are not insulted by a silver trying to say he knows how to play a champ, I'll be delighted to helping you more if you have questions. Just ask in the comments. If you need to, I can tell you how I build on Quinn, how to use her combos, and other bits of info like how perfecting Vault can make you into a semi-invincible enemy.
